ENGLISH AT DOĞA COLLEGE
A Smarter Way to Learn English
At Doğa College, English education is delivered through a holistic approach that aims to enable students to use the language effectively in academic, communicative, and social contexts. The program is built on a strong foundation supported by early language exposure, an intensive weekly schedule, and a variety of course types.
English Across All Grade Levels
English education at Doğa College is planned as an intensive, structured, and sustainable program from kindergarten through middle school. Students are continuously exposed to English from an early age, ensuring uninterrupted language development.
Thanks to this intensive structure, English is not treated merely as a subject but becomes a natural and integral part of students’ educational lives.
Kindergarten (Ages 4–5)
At the kindergarten level, students receive approximately 16 hours of English instruction per week. English education at this stage is delivered through a play-based, movement-oriented, music-supported, and highly interactive approach.
Courses at this level are conducted under the following titles:
Main Station
These are the core lessons where students take their first steps into English. Basic vocabulary, simple expressions, and everyday language use are introduced. Lessons are taught by native teachers.
Central Station
These lessons introduce science, nature, and environmental themes through English. Students begin to experience the language in meaningful and real-life contexts. Native teachers also conduct these lessons.
Interactive Station
These lessons focus on movement, games, and interaction. The aim is to help students develop a positive attitude toward English and use the language confidently and freely.
Primary School
At the primary school level, students receive 13 hours of English instruction per week. The main objective during this stage is to build a strong and solid language foundation.
Main Station
This is the core English course in primary school. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills are developed in a balanced and systematic way.
Central Station
These lessons integrate science and foreign language learning. Students explore topics related to science, nature, and daily life in English, helping them make meaningful connections with the language. These lessons are taught by native teachers.
Interactive Station
These lessons emphasize speaking and interaction skills. Through group work, pair activities, and role-play practices, students actively use English in communicative settings.
Middle School
At the middle school level, students receive an average of 16 hours of English per week. At this stage, there is no Main Station course. English education is delivered through a more academic and communication-focused structure.
Main Course
This is the core English lesson in middle school. It is taught through a communicative, student-centered, and participation-based approach. The goal is for students to express themselves accurately and effectively in English.
Reading
These lessons focus on developing reading skills. Activities include reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and text interpretation.
Interaction Session
These lessons aim to improve speaking skills. Through discussions, presentations, and oral communication activities, students use English in authentic communicative environments.
In exam-focused grades, weekly English lesson hours may be adjusted in line with academic planning.
Grade 8 – LGS English Preparation
At Doğa College, Grade 8 English education is structured in accordance with LGS-oriented academic planning. The program is designed to help students retain prior knowledge and strengthen it through systematic revision and regular practice.
Mock Exams, Assessment, and Statistical Tracking
Grade 8 English courses include weekly mock exams, in-class outcome- and skill-based assessments, and periodic mock exam sets from different publishers. This approach exposes students to a wide variety of question types and ensures comprehensive exam preparation.
Results from mock exams are evaluated across Doğa College campuses. Students can compare their performance, rankings, and areas for improvement with thousands of peers nationwide. This enables them to track their academic progress through clear and concrete data.
The collected statistics serve as an important guide in planning each student’s academic journey.
Digital Foreign Language Support Systems
English education at Doğa College is supported by strong digital platforms in addition to classroom instruction.
Ratoonland
Ratoonland is an online homework and learning management system used at kindergarten, primary, and middle school levels. Topics covered in class are assigned as homework, projects, tests, and exams according to academic plans. Students’ completion rates, time spent on the platform, and academic progress are tracked statistically, and parents receive regular feedback.
Kidzwonder
Kidzwonder is a game-based digital program that enables students to learn English through fun and engagement. Gamified activities help students review, reinforce what they have learned, and participate in the learning process with enthusiasm.
Highlights
Highlights is an online digital library designed to develop students’ English reading habits. Each week, level-appropriate books are assigned to students. They both listen to and read these books, supporting reading comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, and pronunciation skills.
The Globals
The Globals is a platform designed to develop students’ speaking, communication, and global awareness skills. English is presented through universal themes such as hunger, poverty, justice, equality, the environment, and human rights. While gaining awareness of a globalized world and shared values, students improve their ability to express their ideas in English and understand different perspectives.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Doğa College English Education Model is built on intensive weekly instruction, grade-specific course structures, a balance between academic and communicative skills, and digitally supported learning. Through this model, students grow not only as learners of English but as individuals who use the language effectively, consciously, and confidently.
